The Cleveland Industrial Archaeology Society began life in 1965 as the Teesside Industrial Archaeology Group.

We believe that the industrial history of the north east and Yorkshire is important and we work for its preservation.

Our members make records of industrial sites and equipment, carry out historical research and work to help the preservation of business records and physical relics themselves.
The Society organises a programme of lectures and site visits. It publishes two or three newsletters a year, containing short contributions and current news.

We also publish the Cleveland Industrial Archaeologist. This is a journal containing more substantial items of members research. Research
